COVID-19 Outbreak Food Insecurity

The needs have been great and will continue to be so. Sewickley Community Food Pantry will be trying to fill the gaps for local families; additionally, the SUMC Pastor’s Pantry has been utilized more frequently in recent weeks. To support the greater community, the Outreach Committee forwarded two financial donations to the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. Diapers, wipes, pancake mix and syrup were purchased to support the Sewickley Food Pantry.

When you are shopping for your family’s essential needs, please consider buying items to donate—perhaps, check the baby aisle to see if diapers/wipes/baby food/formula are in stock and  perhaps add some (or other non-perishable foods) to your cart.  As of now, the church custodian is at the church 8 am to 1 pm Monday through Friday—press the button near the ramp entrance, and Chris can accept your donations. Contact the church office or Martha Boward for questions or to arrange other drop off options.

The Outreach Committee replenishes the Pastor’s Pantry—financial contributions are welcome in order to restock this valuable ministry. Indicate Pastor’s Pantry on your gift or on EasyTithe.
