Prayer has a new address
Prayer has a new address: prayers@sewickleyumc.org
The SUMC Witness Committee has created an Email address for anyone—our church family, our friends and neighbors, and beyond—to submit prayer requests. Committee members will monitor the inbox throughout the day and respond with prayer.
Requests will also be posted anonymously to a blog on the SUMC website, so that all of us can respond with prayer:
A woman is asking for prayer for her mother, who is hospitalized tonight…
A youth is asking for prayer for a classmate who has made statements about self-harm…
A man is asking for prayer for a co-worker struggling with divorce…
A woman is asking for blessings on the newborn daughter of a childhood friend…
While email addresses of those submitting prayer will be available to committee members with access to the inbox, no identifying information will be included in the blog. We can pray for each other without knowing all of the details. God doesn’t ask for details. He asks for faith.
There are no parameters on prayer requests.
Request prayer for yourself: I need healing… I need Light… I need patience…
Request prayer for loved ones: My son… my mother… my boyfriend…
Pray locally: Lord, bless the teachers at my child’s school…
Pray globally: Lord, help us find a way to make sure no child goes hungry today…
Pray continuously: Can we pray again…
The SUMC Witness Committee—Mitchell Hortert and Susie Moffett, co-chairpersons, and Pamela Mayo, Edie Erkert, Laura Geason, Sarah Heastings and Bill Utterback—welcomes suggestions and insights concerning this prayer opportunity and any opportunities to advance and share our faith with each other and our communities.
