Pumpkins, Pumpkins, Here Come The Pumpkins!
Thank you to all who responded to the Pumpkin Patch poll. It’s exciting to see almost everyone is in favor of having the Pumpkin Patch this year. The pumpkins arrive on October 3, so mark your calendars NOW! I don’t have a time yet, and I’m still unsure how the unloading is going to go, but we will unload in a safe, distancing manner. We may unload in shifts. More on that later. We are looking for a person to work closely with our wonderful secretary, Pam, with the online scheduling. Please contact either myself or Diane for more info. This is something that can be done from home, as long as you have the internet. This pandemic is changing many things including the Pumpkin Patch, but we think the community, as well as the church, look forward to it. So, bring on our special orange cargo!
For those of you who are new to SUMC, the whole month of October, we sell pumpkins from our front lawn. It takes many people to make this the success it has been. This is our biggest annual fundraiser, averaging over $5,100 for the month in profit.
