Pittsburgh Peace is Possible Coalition is hosting an interfaith peace concert on October 1, 2023, at 2:00 pm at First UMC in Pittsburgh to celebrate the International Day of Peace, recognized on September 21st. A Celebration of Peace will include performances from a variety of artistic groups including the Healthy Village Initiative drumming group, Bethel African Methodist Episcopal Church choir, First UMC Choir, liturgical dance group, bell choir, tai chi, calligrapher, and inspirational readings about peace. The concert will feature the hymn “Peace Is Possible” with deeply moving lyrics written by Jeff Sterling to the tune Finlandia by Jean Sibelius.
