The Pittsburgh District of the UMC invites you to participate in a hands-on CPR class being taught by Chris Galbreath, a certified EMT.
You are invited to spend the day building your skills in recognizing, responding to, and supporting someone who is experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis.
Laity and clergy are invited, Jan. 24, 9 am – 4 pm, to build skills to recognize, respond to, and support someone who is experiencing a mental health challenge or crisis.
With great joy, we are inviting everyone to join us in our 2nd season of our SUMC-produced podcast. New episodes sharing the good news of Christmas are released on Wednesdays in Advent and are available on all major podcast apps.
Beginning Sunday, November 27th, the first Sunday in Advent, from 6 to 8 pm, and the following Sundays in Advent, we will have an all-church Bible study.

As we drift toward fall, I have so many reasons to lift prayers of thanksgiving for a glorious summer.
Many of you are looking into colleges for your future education. You may want to look on the bulletin board outside the church office for a list of United Methodist affiliated colleges and universities.
Children’s Church will start on September 11 after the Children’s Message during both services for elementary and younger aged children. There will be no children’s classes at 10 am.

The SUMC Children’s Church teams are looking for adults and young people to join us in serving children during the 2022-2023 school year, which begins in September.
We are having one combined worship service on July 31st at 11 am, followed by a time of lunch & fellowship, as we celebrate the start of the Sewickley Community Vacation Bible School.
We are excited to announce the launch of our first SUMC-produced podcast, “I Hear Jesus.”
In keeping with this year’s “Food Truck” theme, the VBS children will assemble weekend food bags for children who participate in summer learning programs at The Bridge (formerly Bethany House) in Northview Heights and blessing bags for the homeless who are served by the Daily Bread ministry in Pittsburgh’s North Side.
Sewickley Community Vacation Bible School begins Sunday, July 31, noon to 3 pm, and continues Monday through Wednesday, August 1 to 3, 5:30 to 7:30 pm.
Please come and help us make VBS the best Food Truck Rally! Help decorate on Thursday nights in July, 6 - 9 pm, beginning this coming Thursday, July 7.
Our 2022 Sewickley community Vacation Bible School (hosted by SUMC in partnership with St. Matthews AME Zion and St. Paul’s Lutheran) will revolve around a Food Truck theme and scripture from the Lord ’s Prayer: “Give us this day our daily bread.”
The nursery is temporarily moved to the loft in the Simpson Room while the flooring in part of the basement is replaced.
