It is impossible to begin the conversation about God without also acknowledging the Trinity. It is impossible to acknowledge and begin to understand the Trinity without first recognizing our own limits on language and human understanding. The Trinity themselves and the way the Trinity works together is a great mystery. What we do know is there are three persons of the Trinity: Father, Son and Holy Spirit. We recognize that even this language can be harmful and limiting in our fuller understanding of the Triune God. Another way to view the Trinity without injecting the potential harmful gender language is Creator, Redeemer and Sustainer. Even this language is limiting because we know the Triune God to be so much more than that. This week we will wrestle with the Creator whom we call God. Though God has many names from I AM to Lord, we will seek to understand who God as a person of the Trinity is.
