Surrender: The how-to of surrender, don’t wait for the storm

When all else fails, try again! When learning a new skill or trade, this might be our battle cry. We just have to keep trying till we get it right. It reminds me of helping my 5-year-old daughter learn how to tie her shoe. No matter how many times she messes up, I encourage her to try again. After many attempts with the same result, I realized maybe I need to look up some fresh ways of teaching children how to tie shoes. This led to an hour-long YouTube search and no more shoe tying for the day. What I came to understand was that it is important for me to swallow my pride and surrender to the knowledge of another to help her grow. But my question was, how do I surrender? We have spent the past couple of weeks talking about surrender and what it is and what it means. Now the question is, how do I do it? Let’s not wait for the storm to learn how to surrender. Let’s learn together now so we are prepared when that day comes.
