In Psalm 84:8-9, the Psalmist pleads with God to “hear my prayer.” Then the Psalmist calls God “our shield.” The Psalmist knew that God doesn’t just listen, but that God acts. When we take our prayers to God, we can be assured God is going to read between the lines and give us what we really need. For some, that might be protection; for some, that might be patience. Like the Psalmist, we can trust in God to know what that is and to act accordingly.
