Jesus reclines with tax collectors and sinners. They might be the same thing, or they might not be. Most people assumed they were, but Jesus didn’t care. He didn’t wait to hear of their integrity or to fix their brokenness before he went and hung out with them. Jesus understood: people can’t be something they don’t know how to be. What was his solution? To show them.
