As school ends for the summer, so does the food safety net that many children in the Greater Pittsburgh Area have during the school months. Qualified children have received free or reduced cost breakfast and lunch at their schools. All that school support ends during the summer months.
Coraopolis Youth Creations will be partnering with the Food Bank for Food and Fun, which provides much needed lunch followed by activities, free of charge to youth age 18 and younger. Sewickley UMC’s Outreach Committee chair has reached out to the Food Bank to see how SUMC might help with this program. Look for updates in the coming weeks. Food and Fun will run from June 12th to August 9th at the center located at 1022 5th Avenue, 3rd Floor—no paperwork to fill out, no qualifications to meet, just eat.
