Our Mission at Learning Tree Preschool Sewickley is to provide children with an educational program that enhances their socialization and cognitive skills and increases their self-esteem through academics and free play.
…that children are eager to enter.
…where children have free playtime to interact with peers and to make choices as to what they like to do.
…that is flexible and creative.
…where children are exposed to a variety of experiences in music, arts and crafts, literature, movement, communication, nutrition, indoor and outdoor play.
…where teachers are attentive to the needs of the children and respond to those needs in a loving way.
Established in September, 1980, in the basement of the Sewickley United Methodist Church, the Learning Tree Preschool was founded to fill a community need for an educational program for children of the area.
A core group of women from the SUMC formed the board of directors and created a non-denominational environment where children could play with one another; learn about art, music, and dance; and be introduced to preschool academics.
Learning Tree Preschool of Sewickley is a non-profit, non-denominational organization that is affiliated with the Sewickley United Methodist Church. The preschool is committed to offering a non-sectarian learning opportunity without regard to race, religion or ethnic background.
