For everything there is a season and a time for every matter under heaven. Ecclesiastes 3:1
It is always the right time to “love God with all of our hearts, and with all of our souls, and with all of our minds, and our neighbors as ourselves.” (Matthew 22: 37 & 39) As we seek to be faithful to Jesus’ two ‘Great Commandments,’ we celebrate human diversity and all persons as children of God. Our church adamantly and enthusiastically welcomes persons of all ages, races, ethnicities, sexual orientations, gender identities (the entire LGBQT community), family configuration, economic conditions, marital status, and mental or physical abilities to attend, join and participate fully in the life of our congregation. We celebrate “Open hearts. Open minds. Open doors.” We have time for you, and there is a place for you.
Sewickley United Methodist Church offers ministries to people of all ages, from preschool age to senior adults. Currently, we offer two worship opportunities each Sunday morning: a contemporary service at 9:00 a.m. and a traditional service at 11:00 a.m.
The best way to learn about us is to peruse our website and come join us for worship. We would love to get to know you. You are invited to come as you are, and wherever you are on your faith journey, and we will travel that road together.
The Sewickley United Methodist Church is “The Church With Time For You!”
Be present in the community as a welcoming and growing church, living out the radical love of Jesus.
Make disciples of Jesus Christ for the transformation of the world.
We believe in the sacred worth of all people. Therefore, we welcome, want, and value all persons, regardless of age, race, ethnic and religious background, gender identity, marital status, sexual orientation/expression, immigration status, and disability.
We believe in the sanctity of Scripture as the inspired word of God. We don’t interpret it literally but through the Holy Spirit who is active and still speaking within the world today. Therefore, we pursue peace and justice for the marginalized and underserved by giving our time, talents, and resources.
We believe that God intends for us to live and work together. Therefore, we seek opportunities to serve and engage others with empathy, compassion, dignity, and respect.
