While most local school districts have been providing Grab and Go meals to area children as the COVID-19 pandemic closed schools and shut off access to free and reduced cost breakfast and lunches, children’s nutritional needs will be addressed in many areas over the summer by the Kids Summer Meal Network. These sites serve all children through age 18; as sites are still being finalized, anyone wanting to access these meals can use the Locator Tool through the Greater Pittsburgh Community Food Bank. In past years, meals (and sometimes activities) have been available in Leetsdale, Coraopolis, and Mooncrest (Moon Township). If interested in volunteering with the meal network, reach out to the individual sites shown on the locator.
