SUMC and Church Union are coordinating to collect NEW winter coats, jackets, hats, scarves, mittens, and gloves for needy children (toddlers through teens) in the Pittsburgh area. Church Union and the Pittsburgh Police will work together to distribute the clothing to children in Northview Heights (the area served by Bethany House) during a community event on December 4th. You can participate by bringing new winter clothing to the church by NOVEMBER 20th or by donating funds, which will be used to purchase new coats. Please keep in mind many teens wear adult sized clothing. Items may be dropped off to the church M-F from 8:30 am to 1 pm or on Sundays from 8:30 am to noon. To donate toward the purchase of additional coats, you may drop off your donation to the church or use EasyTithe (mark “COATS”). If you have questions or need to make other drop off arrangements, contact Martha Boward or the church office.
