This year, there will be weekly calendars highlighting different aspects of this Zimbabwe ministry based in
Pittsburgh. The Lenten Fines calendar helps us recognize the things we take for granted. The fines will go to support the Nyadire UM Mission. Watch the weekly church emails for the installments, follow the calendar, and submit your fines to Sewickley UMC following Easter Sunday.
You might be wondering what is TNC? TNC was founded after a Volunteer in Mission team of 18 Pittsburghers traveled to Nyadire for three weeks and seeks to support and sustain the Nyadire United Methodist Mission in Northeastern rural Zimbabwe, Africa. TNC offers a hospital, nursing school, school system (pre-school through high school), orphanage, teacher’s college, farm, and many more services to the surrounding community. TNC’s goals are to have a long-term, committed relationship with the Nyadire people, supporting Nyadire’s priorities to promote self-sufficiency. Past Lenten Fines have supported fish farming, hearing impaired outreach, and ministry to visually impaired. The Sewickley UMC youth have sponsored school fees and supplies for a TNC student. To learn more about TNC, be sure to follow the weekly Lenten Fines calendar and check out TNC’s website.
