On February 9th, our congregation will help Tackle Hunger by celebrating the Souper Bowl of Caring. This nationwide movement has been inspiring grassroots efforts to tackle hunger in local communities for 35 years. In a nod to the Souper Bowl theme, SUMC will be collecting cans of soup and cash to support local organizations that fight hunger. Donations will support the Sewickley Community Center’s food pantry and the Northside Food Pantry Advisors’ fresh produce distribution program in Northview Heights. Please consider including some low-sodium and vegetarian soup options for those who have special food needs. Contributions of other canned goods, pasta, pancake mix, shelf-stable foods, and paper products are also welcome.
