The Christmas season has been a time of beauty, joy, and togetherness throughout our church, but now it’s time for the “Unhanging of the Greens!” We’d love for you to join us as we carefully take down the decorations in the Sanctuary, Parlor, Simpson Room, and Hallways and pack them away for next year.
Come help decorate the church for Christmas on November 26th following the Traditional Service!

The Methodist Episcopal Church of Sewickleyville was officially incorporated on November 13, 1852, 170 years ago this November. It’s a reason to celebrate!
The last year or more has been challenging, frustrating, and rewarding for the SUMC Trustees. We have seen many major issues that needed to be addressed, not surprisingly, in this nearly 200-year-old church.
The lower level is nearly ready for all contents to be returned to their respective rooms, and we hope you can be there to help.
Your help is needed! Rooms in the basement need to be emptied to prepare for the upcoming Asbestos Abatement Project.
we have blocked out 6 days to prepare and remove the contents of all affected areas.
Trustees have scheduled the removal and replacement of carpet and tile in the basement Sunday School rooms, hallway, and nursery.
Please help keep our church clean while we are without a janitor. A sign-up sheet for tasks to be done is located on the janitor’s closet door.
In 2013, the Sewickley UMC sanctuary went through a major renovation.
As we return to limited in-person worship on February 21, please keep the marked spots in the parking lot free for those with mobility issues.
