Our Ecumenical Lenten Services will begin here at SUMC on Ash Wednesday, March 5th, at 7:00 pm.
The last three Lenten services are being held at different times.
We will be joining St. Matthew’s AME Zion, St. Paul’s Lutheran, and Sewickley Presbyterian churches for our Sunday evening Lenten services.
Join us on Monday mornings at 5:30 a.m. as we have a time of devotion together over Zoom.
We will begin our first gathering of our Lenten journey at the Sewickley Presbyterian Church on February 14th at 7:00 pm with our community Ash Wednesday Service.
Please submit you donations by April 16 with your regular offering or through Vanco. Please mark your donation “Nyadire GEP.”
Lent is a season of preparation for Easter that lasts for 40 days, not counting Sundays, that spans from Ash Wednesday until Easter.
We will join together with other churches at Sewickley Presbyterian February 22 at 7 pm.
Follow along with the 2023 Lenten calendar to learn more about life in Zimbabwe, especially for the girls at the Nyadire United Methodist Mission in northeastern Zimbabwe.
During Lent, we will gather to worship with our siblings in Christ at St. Matthews AME Zion, St. Paul’s Lutheran, and Sewickley Presbyterian churches.

This Sunday’s service will be at St. Paul’s Lutheran with Pastor Hannah bringing the message.
The imposition of ashes will be available at Wolcott Park, and there will be a 6 pm service at St. Matthews AME Zion. Pastor Hannah is preaching.
As we have done in the past and continue to strive to do, we will be gathering with our brothers and sisters from St. Matthews AME Zion and St. Paul’s Lutheran Churches over the season of Lent.
This Lenten Season, give the gift of your story to your brothers and sisters in Christ. We are putting together a devotional for the 40 days of Lent that witness to the truth of Jesus in our lives.

Friday evening, join us on Zoom at 7 p.m. for an Ecumenical Tenebrae service. This service will take us through the seven last sayings of Jesus Christ on the cross.
