K. asked us to pray.

There was a stressful situation at work. She was anxious and afraid that she might lose her job.

A few days later, K. asked to pray for her again.

There was going to be a meeting with management at work.  She was hopeful.

A day after the meeting, K. let us know she was offering prayers of thanks and praise, and we joined her.

After sharing her joy, K. said that the actions of a co-worker created the stressed that swirled for a week.

“I’m not angry,” she said.

Sometimes, when we share prayer, we share a window into God’s presence.

When K. asked us for prayer, she opened a window for us.  We saw as He walked with her from pain to hope to joy to peace.

We saw her faith.

We saw His accessibility.

Many of the Jesus stories in the Bible take place in daylight, in the presence of other people.

We see Bartimaeus call for Jesus, and we see Jesus listen and respond.

We see the Centurion approach Jesus, and we see Jesus listen and respond.

We see the woman touch his robe, and we see Jesus stop to find her, to see her face.

We see the man with leprosy call for Jesus as he walks from the mount, and we see Jesus touch him.

When one of us calls for Jesus, and Jesus responds, we are all lifted. We need to think more often of sharing prayer, or bringing our prayers into the daylight.

K. lifted us through a Facebook prayer group.  She invited Jesus into our group, and He joined us. We glimpsed His presence.

Prayer is meant to be shared.
