We are off to a great start for the year and have lots of upcoming activities.
Haunted House
The haunted house runs the next two weekends (18, 19, 25 and 26), and we need lots of cast members. All youth are invited to participate! Cast members will be at church from about 6:00 pm until 9:30 pm each night they work and are invited to join us at Pizza Roma afterward each night for a recap of the evening.
SPARK (Jan 24-26, 2020)
SUMC Youth Group is planning to attend Spark, the Western PA United Methodist Youth Conference, which takes place on Jan 24th to 26th at the Sheraton Station Square in Pittsburgh. We will leave Friday after school and return on Sunday around lunchtime (exact times TBD) for a weekend of worship, music, and fellowship with youth from all over western PA. It’s a great opportunity for our youth to explore their faith and meet other Christian teens from the area. The weekend costs $190 and includes all meals other than dinner on Sat night, but we are planning on fundraising to cover at least half of the cost (hopefully more). For now, plan on paying $90 per person for the event, and know that we may be able to decrease your cost.
Creation 2020 (June 24-28, 2020)
We are once again planning to attend Creation Fest in Mt Union, PA on June 24th to 28th. This Christian music festival brings together several top artists with dozens of other bands for 4 days of music and worship that you won’t soon forget. This year will feature Chris Tomlin, Jeremy Camp, Hillsong Young and Free, and Newsboys United. We camp for the week and prepare our breakfasts and lunches together, which keeps the overall costs down to just $50 per youth and $125 for adults (the church covers part of the cost for all youth who attend). More info will follow on this later, but get it on your calendar now, as we will be ordering tickets next month.
