The SUMC children and youth will re-visit tradition by planting flowers around the church campus on May 22, the final morning of our 2021-22 Children’s Church school year. The Fellowship of the Cross and the Education Committee will again host the event.

Children and middle school/high school youth—as well as any church family members who would like to join us—should dress appropriately for digging in the dirt and for the weather. You are encouraged, if possible, to bring your own gardening tools.

We will gather near the playground after the children are dismissed from the 9 am service. We will continue planting throughout the morning. At 11, for those who have a parent’s permission, we will walk to the Union Aid building (511 Centennial Ave.) to plant flowers around the building for the residents to enjoy.

An important component of this tradition is church family donating flowers. Contributions of flowers can be made after May 15. Financial contributions toward the purchase of flowers (marked “flower planting”) can be made through the church office, offering plate, or easyTithe. For more information, contact Pamela Mayo or Bill Utterback.
