The young people in the Fellowship of the Cross, anticipating Vacation Bible School, posted that question on a bulletin board in the Simpson Room. The responses they’ve found pinned to the board are inspiring.

“A Changemaker is…
“…someone who thinks from the heart.”
“…a person who tries to improve the world.”
“…someone who likes to help others.”
“…someone who cares about their community.”
“…bold.”
“…humble and fierce.”
“…someone who values everyone.”

There is time for you to add your thoughts to the board.

More significantly, there is time for you to be a changemaker and help us grow young changemakers at our 2023 Community Vacation Bible School, sponsored jointly by Sewickley United Methodist, St. Matthews AME Zion, and St. Paul’s Lutheran churches.

The theme is “Changemakers Lab,” and the camp will run from 6:00 pm until 8:30 pm, August 7 through 10, at SUMC. The camp is free for anyone from any community and will involve children entering kindergarten through fifth grade, with possibilities including preschoolers and middle schoolers. Online registration will launch in May.

Changemakers—people who like to help others, improve the world, and think with their hearts—are needed to join the VBS volunteer team.

For more information, contact Grace Rogansky, Pamela Mayo, Bill Utterback, or Pastor Hannah. We’re looking for volunteers to invest in the imagining, preparation, and presentation of our Changemakers Lab. Here’s a link to a form for anyone interested in volunteering.
