The Add1 Lenten prayer window for the week of April 16–22, as selected by the junior bells choirs, is as follows: Life. The discussion, which included Eva, Amelie, Ansel, Aiden, Emily, and Ellen, began with pets, and then moved on to sunshine, stars, all animals, all of nature, and the safety of all children. Ansel placed it all under the “Life” umbrella. So we’re suggesting a prayer of gratitude and prayer for God’s Light into the ways we protect and share and encourage all of the life God created. It feels like an appropriate prayer as we approach Easter and embrace the new life Jesus provided us.

The FOTC youth are directing the Add1 prayer campaign, hoping that everyone in the church family will add one prayer every day through our Lenten walk toward Easter. Our bulletin board in the Simpson Room, featuring a window looking out onto God’s creation, serves as a reminder to look for prayer opportunities in new places. The 9:00 am and 11:00 am Children’s church kids, the youth group/confirmation class, the Mother’s Day dancers and the FOTC youth have provided prayer prompts throughout Lent. Their prayer requests have continually included children in challenging situations, those facing hunger and homelessness, those who are facing anxiety, those feeling alone, those struggling in school or with bullies, and those in hospitals. FOTC thanks everyone joining us in Add1 prayers throughout the Lenten season.
