We are inviting our SUMC children and youth to submit something creative as we approach Easter. The theme of the Lenten worship services on Sunday evenings has been “Sensing Grace,” and the messages involve experiencing the Love and Light of Jesus through sight, sound, touch, taste, and smell. When the Lenten series visits SUMC again at 6:00 pm on Palm Sunday, we would like to have the children and youth contribute their thoughts to our journey toward Easter. We will put everything on display, for the Palm Sunday evening service and beyond. We are inviting children from our partner churches to participate as well. The kids do not need to attend the service. Drawings, paintings, Calligraphy, scripture, mixed media, poetry, and original writing are all welcome. Since our VBS theme is “Block Party,” we will accept anything made from blocks. If video works best, we will find a way to share it. If baking is your preferred window of expression, we are not a church that ever turns away anything with cinnamon or chocolate or frosting. Maybe a floral arrangement brings you closer to God. The SUMC Children will be given time in Children’s Church to imagine and create, but everyone is welcome to create at home. We will provide/suggest 8x11" cardstock for drawings and paintings. Creations should be delivered to the FOTC by 11:00 am on Palm Sunday. For more info, please contact Grace Rogansky, Felicity Johnston, or Bill Utterback.
