Keep our building secure and our people safe by following these tips.
Bi-Annual Safe Sanctuary Training will be held on June 22nd and/or July 20th. Both days will be from 10:00 am until noon.
Did you know we have a security team at SUMC? We call them Guardians.
When you are volunteering at the Patch, please be mindful to keep the door closed, and do not allow anyone to enter the church building without an escort.
In the event an immediate evacuation is necessary from the building, you can notify people using the Air Horns we have in place.
In the event of an immediate evacuation, on any Sunday, please follow the instructions of the Guardian on duty or follow your instincts, and exit the building as quickly and safely as possible.
Due to following the CDC recommendations for all of our health and safety protocols, we must reinstate some of our COVID precautions until our county returns to a low or medium risk category.
While the possibility of anyone causing us harm at SUMC is slim, we continue to exercise due diligence by expanding and upgrading our protocols in the Safety and Security Ministry.
If you volunteer in any capacity at Sewickley UMC and missed the June training, it is being offered again on Sunday, July 17th, at 12:30 pm in the Simpson Room. Please sign up to attend this important training.
Every two years, our volunteers need to be trained to fully understand our Safe Sanctuary Policy and
our individual responsibilities.
Saturday, June 25th at 10 am or Sunday, July 17th at 12:30 p.m.
We have heard from many people regarding questions of when we will return to in-person worship. The answer remains the same: we cannot say with certainty when that will happen. A couple of things have to take place before we can begin to discern a timeframe.
Hello Church Family,
We are following guidelines from authorities, and no services, Sunday School classes, or meetings will be physically held in the church building through the end of March, at least. We are working on plans for online worship and will send details as soon as they are worked out.
We realize there are those who are unable to leave their homes and need someone to shop for them. If you need assistance, please let your church know. We are also looking for volunteers who will be able to shop for those who need to stay secluded. Likewise, please let us know if you can volunteer to help those who are in need of help.
Please continue to lift everyone in prayer!
The Safety & Security Ministry is hosting AED training on Monday, February 24, 7 pm in the Simpson Room; Scott Spencer will instruct. All are welcome to attend, in fact, the more people who know how to use the AED, the better protected we are at saving a life.
This is the first year SUMC will serve a public dinner to kick off autumn. Please come on Saturday, October 6th from 5-7 pm. Bring friends for a traditional homemade roast pork, sausage, and sauerkraut dinner with potatoes, Haluski, homemade desserts, Bavarian pretzels, and beverages.
Effective immediately! Monday through Saturday, during daylight hours, church doors will be locked. When the preschool is in session, the door by the office will be open until 9:15 am and then locked.
