We will be assembling more food bags for children who participate in learning programs at The Bridge/Hub in Northview Heights and blessing bags for the homeless who are served by the Daily Bread ministry on Pittsburgh’s North Side.
On December 18, beginning at 9:45 am, there will be a Breakfast for Jesus. ALL are welcome.
I share the sad news that Atleah Grubb has passed away. In recent years, she was unable to attend SUMC in person. However, prior to her failing health, she was a vital member of SUMC and a joy to all who had the pleasure of knowing her.
We are celebrating Light Up Night and opening our sanctuary to visitors on Friday, December 2, 5:00 to 9:00 pm!

Calling everyone who loves to sing: We are looking for people to form a choir for the 7:30 pm traditional service on Christmas Eve.
Each year during the Christmas season, we as a congregation have the opportunity to show our church staff our appreciation with a small token of appreciation. If you wish to donate, please give your donations to a member of our Staff Parish Relations Committee (SPRC) by Sunday, December 11.
Our tradition is to deliver gift bags to the shut-in members of our church family for Christmas. The Woman’s Sharing Group is collecting contributions through Sunday, December 4.

Looking ahead, the Outreach Committee will provide Angel Tree wish tags for children and teens who are in residential mental health treatment at the Bradley Center, located in Robinson Township. As you plan your holiday spending, please keep those children in mind.
Today we celebrate our 170th birthday and paying off the loan from our 2014 sanctuary renovation!
October was a huge month for SUMC! Our annual operating budget, on the receipt side, includes 4 fundraisers: Pumpkin Patch, Haunted House, Seasonal Dinner, & Cookie Walk. 3 of the 4 were held in October.
Our December choices are Beef Barley Vegetable, Creamy Chicken Noodle, and French Onion soups and Sandra’s Hummus.
The COOKIE WALK is next Saturday, November 19th, 9 - 11 am.
Consider exploring your relationship with God by working with a Spiritual Companion. Pastor Dora J. Odarenko is beginning her third year of training to be a spiritual companion, and is currently under supervision. She is now welcoming clients, pro bono.
