Last month, Felicity spoke about what a privilege it has been to work with the confirmands. I agree! They have enlightened me of the simplicity of life and also reminded me of the beauty of faith in Jesus. During a recent class, we had the opportunity to discuss what is important to them. We talked about the things they think are worthy of prayer. Below echoes a bit of the conversation we had. I encourage you as you read the conversation and as you pray to remind yourself of the everyday joys that are all around. There is much we take for granted, and this sunset prayer is about being thankful for those things that fill all of our lives. Join us on August 1st at 8:35 pm as we pray for the following:
First we want people to offer up a praise; we are so excited that Mr. Bill is back in church! If you are looking for proof that God answers prayers, Bill is it.
We are also excited that this month we were asked about what is important to us. What do we want to pray for?
Safety and good health for our friends and family and church
Continued guidance and support for our new members and confirmands
Those who struggle with mental health challenges
That we all get a healthy amount of vitamin D and stay hydrated
That we do not see any more house centipedes! (I particularly resonate with this one… creepy things.)
I love how all the things they challenge us to pray for encompass the whole person. I don’t think they even realized that they prayed for body, soul, and mind. Remember, God doesn’t just love pieces of us, but loves all of us to pieces. Thank you for being faithful to prayer!
Love, your neighborhood confirmands!
