When the hour came, Jesus and his apostles reclined at the table. And he said to them, “I have eagerly desired to eat this Passover with you before I suffer. For I tell you, I will not eat it again until it finds fulfillment in the kingdom of God.” Luke 22:14-16
During Lent, our congregation gathers for potluck dinners and entertaining programs, starting Ash Wednesday and continuing every Sunday until Easter. On Ash Wednesday, we are joined by St. Matthews AME Zion for a fried fish dinner, followed by a worship service with musical offerings from both churches.
Our Sunday night Lenten dinners begin at 5:00 pm with a program following at 6:00. Each week, a different group within the church hosts the meal, providing the entrée. Members bring side dishes. The final Sunday of Lent, rather than a potluck, we hold a traditional Seder dinner. Come join your church family at this special time of the year.
