After purposefully and goofily blending two words together, I said, “Is that even a real word?” To which someone responded, if it has a meaning, it’s a word. Words are simply sounds put together in a specific way to convey a specific purpose. If you attach a meaning to that word and it is said by enough people, it could even find its way into the dictionary. Words are constantly being added to the dictionary as they find meaning. In the beginning of John, we read that The WORD didn’t only find meaning but found life. “The word became flesh and made his dwelling among us.” As we begin our Lenten series on the Gospel of John using Adam Hamilton’s John: The Gospel of Light and Life, I invite you to consider what it means for the word to become flesh. Has The WORD found a home among you?
