Have you ever thought of Jesus as a disciplinarian? Usually, we think of discipline as something that belongs to someone a bit stricter. Though Jesus might not come off as heavy-handed, his commands of living were not optional, if you were going to follow him. Yet, his way of life is one people can find true freedom in. Too often, we rise to anger and force when trying to “inspire” others to do something, when the discipline of Christ is more about true change through ways of love.
